Dominance
A downloadable game for Linux
DOMINANCE is a terminal-based, turn-driven tactics game focused on positioning, line-of-sight, and attrition.
- You deploy a small squad.
- The enemy deploys theirs.
- The system resolves the outcome — one turn at a time.
There are no animations, no meta-progression, and no hand-holding. Every decision is spatial, every mistake is permanent, and combat resolves through simple, readable rules. When battles stall into endless repositioning, DOMINANCE enforces a stalemate and declares a result. No soft-locks. No infinite fights.
Each match features:
-
Procedural maps with terrain that affects movement and visibility
Distinct unit types with meaningful range and damage tradeoffs
-
Line-of-sight–driven combat
-
Color-coded units and terrain for clarity
-
Explicit stalemate resolution to keep games moving
DOMINANCE is intentionally minimal and unapologetically terminal-native. It’s designed for short, tense sessions where outcomes feel earned — win or lose.
This is an alpha release. The game is complete enough to be fully playable and enjoyable, but systems may evolve over time.
If you enjoy tactics games, roguelike sensibilities, and systems that don’t explain themselves twice, DOMINANCE is ready for you.
